Designed by the talented Hannah Maier, this beautiful accessory is knitted flat and then joined at the end. The cowl’s length can also be easily adapted to fit your style.

It comes in a single size and measures approximately 6 inches wide and 49 inches long before the stitches are dropped.

The pattern is an ideal project for an intermediately skilled knitter.

To make the cowl, you will need KnitPicks’ Lindy Chain Yarn. It is a soft and gorgeous fingering-weight yarn that is made of 70% linen and 30% Pima cotton. The yarn boasts 20 stunning colors and shades that are perfect for making lovely and breezy accessories like this cowl that we’re making.

You will also need a size US 5 circular or straight knitting needle. That’s a 3.75 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Moreover, you will be utilizing the yo increase and p2tog decrease when working on this project. The yo or open yarnover increase is a stand-alone vertical increase. If you want to learn how to work the yo, we have a fully illustrated tutorial that you’ll surely find helpful. Find this tutorial here: Learn the Open Yarnover Increase (YO).

The p2tog or purled right slanting decrease is the reverse side equivalent to the k2tog. It is one of the easier decrease techniques and is used on the wrong side or purl side in stockinette stitch of your project. You can learn how to do the p2tog in this tutorial: Purled Right Slanting Decrease (P2tog).
