This Zigzag Eyelet Stitch Pattern has a delightful symmetry to it.
In fact, this particular pattern is just one of many variations of the Zigzag Eyelet pattern.
This variation is a popular choice for baby blankets as it has a lovely and delicate feel about it. Even though it is not reversible, the backside is still reasonably attractive.
With its decorative left and right leaning decreases, it is a great pattern for those who would like to practise their ktog and ssk decreases.
Furthermore, it is a fairly quick knit as every wrong row is a purl row. In addition, it is easy to adapt this stitch pattern, so you can knit it in the round, if you prefer.
This pattern is a great example on how you can use some simple decreases and yarnovers to create a simple, yet very decorative pattern.
