This free knitting pattern is ideal for Level 4 - Intermediate Level Knitters

Designed by the talented Cathy Maguire, the Wedding Belle Lace Gloves is a sophisticated accessory that brides and bridesmaids can add to their repertoire.

These gloves are worked in an easy lace pattern, making them ideal for intermediate knitters to work on. Moreover, its lovely ribbing allows room for stretching so that it can fit a range of sizes.

In fact, the pattern comes in one size. The finished circumference measures about 8 inches, while the finished length measures about 7 1/2 inches. That’s 20.5 cm and 19 cm respectively if you prefer to use the metric system.

The original gloves were made with the discontinued Lion Brand’s LB collection silk yarn, however, you can easily substitute any no. 2 or fine weight yarn when making this piece.

In addition, you will need a size US 5 and a size US 6 knitting needles. That’s 3.75 mm and 4 mm respectively if you prefer to use the metric system.

Working the pattern requires you to make the k2tog knitting decrease. K2tog stands for knitting 2 stitches together and is a basic decrease technique that slants to the right.

If you like to learn how to make the k2tog, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
