This free knitting pattern is ideal for Level 3 - Easy Level Knitters

From the talented designers over at Lion Brand, the Twin Lakes Blankie features a lovely basketweave pattern with seed stitch borders. It’s the new multi-purpose blankie that you have always wanted to make for your beloved.

Plus, it’s an easy level knitting pattern that’s great for knitters who want to try a basketweave stitch pattern blanket.

The pattern comes in one size that measures about 29 inches by 33 inches. That’s approximately 73.5 cm by 84 cm if you prefer to use the metric system.

The original blanket was made using the discontinued Cotton-Ease Yarn, however, you can easily substitute any smooth medium-weight yarn like this 24/7 Cotton Yarn. This lovely, easy-care yarn is both machine washable and machine dryable.

Moreover, you will also need a size US 10 circular knitting needles. That’s a 6.0 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Finally, as you finish the pattern, you will need to weave in the yarn ends. This is to give your knitted blanket a  neat finish.

If you like to learn how to do this technique, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for weaving in the yarn ends. You can look it up here: Learn How to Weave in Yarn Ends.
