Designed by the talented Tonja Pe Benito, this elegant knit accessory is worked in one piece in the round.

The scarf is available in one size and measures approximately 6.5 inches wide and 36.5 inches long. That is 16.5 cm wide and 92.5 cm long if you prefer using metric measurements.

This pattern is an ideal project for confident beginners who would like a bit of challenge and knit an in-the-round hat.

To make this piece, you will need Lion Brand’s Basic Stitch Anti Pilling Yarn. It is a lovely and durable medium-weight yarn that is specially treated to resist pilling. Its fibers are made of 100% acrylic, perfect for making beautiful and long-lasting knitted pieces. It is ideal for blankets, hats, and scarves, like this one we’re making.

You will also need a size US 11 double-pointed knitting needle. That’s an 8 mm needle if you are using the metric system. A good cable needle is also needed to create the cable details on the hat, this cable needle is a favorite of mine and is highly recommended.

The pom-poms are the finishing touch to your hat. To make them, you can use this pompom maker set. It is very easy to use and will let you create pompoms of different sizes for future projects.

Moreover, you’ll need to slip stitches on this project. To slip a stitch means to pass the stitch from one needle to another without working it. You can learn how to do this here: Slipping Stitches Knitwise or Purlwise.
