Ring of Cables Hat – A Splendid Cabled Hat
Designed by Kim Cameron, this very attractive hat with lovely cable details, is going to be your new favorite cool-weather accessory.
The hat comes in a single size and stretches to approximately 21 inches. That is about 53 cm, if you prefer using metric measurements.
Using Knit Picks Swish Worsted yarn, the hat is knitted using US7 circular or straight knitting needles. That is 4.5 mm needles, if you are using the metric system.
You will also need a good cable needle to work cable details on this hat. This excellent Caspian Options Cable Knitting Needle is going to make doing the cables seamless for you.
Furthermore, you will need to be able to slip stitches during this pattern. If you want to learn more about slipping stitches, we have an excellent tutorial you can refer to here: Slipping Stitches Knitwise or Purlwise.
Another technique required in this knitting pattern is the k2tog, or the basic right-leaning decrease. You can learn more about this decrease method with this step-by-step tutorial here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
Moreover, this knitting pattern includes both written and chartered directions, so you can choose whichever form of instruction you are more familiar with. It also comes in two cable variations, to better cater to individual styles.
