Add a splash of charm and color to your teapots with this lovely tea cozy. It comes in a single size but is stretchy enough to fit most teapots.

The finished item measures approximately 15 inches in circumference and a height of about 7 inches. That is roughly 38 cm in circumference and 18 cm in height if you prefer metric units.

Using Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice Yarn, a medium-weight yarn made of 100% acrylic, the cozy is knitted using US5 and US8 knitting needles. That is 3.75 mm and 5 mm needles if you are using the metric system.

Furthermore, you will need to employ a kfb and m1 increase technique to complete this project. Kfb stands for knitting into front and back, meaning you will have to knit into a single stitch twice.

If you are not familiar with this increase technique and would like to learn how to do it, we have a fully illustrated tutorial that you will find helpful. Find this tutorial here: Learn How to Make a KFB or Bar Increase.

Moreover, the M1 is another increase technique that is used in making this knitted piece. It is almost invisible, making it an excellent increase to use after a rib. If you want to learn more about the M1, why not check out our detailed article on it? You will find this here: M1, M1R, M1L: Knitting Abbreviations Explained.
