Periwinkle knitted fabric with a square pattern followed by a text area that says "Learn how to knit: SSquare Lattice Pattern, learnknittingonline.com" and a back side of periwinkle knitted fabric with a square patternThe Square Lattice Pattern has a delightful rectilinear design that will make for beautiful knitting projects.

In fact, the design is very simply constructed. Actually, it is another example of how combining knit and purl stitches can produce lovely designs.

In actual fact, it is just made up of knit ribs and purl welts. In turn, the ribs and welts are combined with seed stitch blocks.

As the pattern is knitted over 18 rows, it might look more complicated than it actually is. In truth, once you start knitting it, you will find it a very easy stitch pattern to follow and even memorize.

Furthermore, even though it is not really classified as a reversible pattern, the “wrong” side has an interesting design in itself.

This makes it a great pattern for projects that have two public sides, for instance, afghan squares and baby blankets. Alternatively, you could try the stitch pattern out on bigger projects, such as a sweater or jacket.

This free knit stitch pattern is ideal for Level 3 - Easy Level Knitters
