In fact, the pattern for this piece is available in four sizes which will fit babies of 6, 12, 18, and 24 months old.

The finished chest measurements are 17, 18, 19, and 20 inches. That’s about 43, 45.5, 48, and 51 cm if you prefer to use the metric system.

To make this piece you will need Bernat Bundle Up Big Ball yarn, a worsted medium yarn with a lightly fleecy texture. This super-soft yarn is spun from 100% polyester fiber and will feel great for your little one’s skin. The perfect versatile yarn for your baby projects!

You will also need US sizes 7 and 8 circular knitting needles, and US sizes 7 and 8 double-pointed knitting needles. That’s about 4.5 and 5 mm if you prefer to use the metric measurements.

One of the techniques that this pattern requires is the k2tog or knit 2 stitches together. It’s a basic decrease technique that slants to the right.
