Moreover, this project is available in one size. Once finished, it has a diameter of 15 3/4″ inches. That’s 40 cm if you prefer to use the metric system.

To make this pattern, you will need DROPS Alpaca Bouclé. It is a  superfine alpaca yarn made of wool and nylon. It is a luxuriously soft yarn that is perfect for making lovely home projects.

Furthermore, you will be needing a US size 8 circular or double-pointed knitting needle. That’s 5 mm needles if you prefer to use the metric system.

You will be using the YO or open yarnover increase when you make this project. The open yarnover increase is an increase technique commonly used on lace patterns. It is a standalone, vertical increase, meaning it neither leans to the left nor to the right.

If you’re not familiar with the open yarnover increase and would like to learn how to do it, we have a fully illustrated, step-by-step tutorial for it you’ll surely find helpful. You can find this tutorial here: Learn the Open Yarnover Increase (YO).

You will also need to utilize the Mattress Stitch to join the sides of the pillow together. The mattress stitch is a seaming technique that creates an invisible, vertical stitch.

If you want to learn how to do make the Mattress Stitch, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique. You can find the tutorial here: Learn How to Do a Mattress Stitch.
