Designed by the talented Galina Carrol, this poncho is created in two separate pieces and then sewn together. It is an easy project that is perfect for confident beginners to tackle.

The poncho is available in 4 different sizes. The ones available are small, large, XL, and 2XL.

To make the poncho, you will need Lion Brand’s Homespun Yarn. It is a delightfully soft and lovely self-striping yarn that is made of 98% acrylic and 2% polyester. The yarn is simply perfect for making warm garments, as well as lovely accessories.

You will also need to use a size US 10 circular knitting needle. That is a 6 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Moreover, you’ll be using the kfb increase and ssk decrease when you make this project. The kfb or knit front and back is a simple method of increasing your stitch count by 1. You can learn how to do a kfb in this illustrated tutorial: Learn How to Make a KFB or Bar Increase.

The ssk or slip one, slip one, knit two stitches together is a basic left-slanting decrease that is commonly found on lace patterns. You can check out our tutorial for it here: Basic Left-Slanting Decrease (SSK).
