Designed by Bobby Fitzgerald of Lion Brand, these Salt Lake Mittens will give warmth to your child’s little hands.

The mitts come in a single size and measure 6 inches in hand circumference. That is 15 cm if you prefer to use metric measurements.

The original piece was created using the discontinued Landscapes yarn. However, you can easily substitute it with any acrylic medium-weight yarn.

If you want to learn more about yarn substitutions, we have an excellent article that covers this topic. Check it out here: 8 Tips to Follow When You Want to Substitute Yarn.

Furthermore, you will need a US size 7 knitting needle. That’s 4.5 mm if you prefer to use the metric system.

Making this piece includes doing ssk and k2tog decrease methods to finish. If you are not familiar with the ssk knitting decrease and want to learn how to do it, we have a detailed step-by-step tutorial on the subject that you can find here: Basic Left-Slanting Decrease (SSK).

Moreover, the k2tog is another knitting decrease method. The technique is used to reduce your number of working stitches. You can learn more about k2tog here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog)
