Precious Piper Cardigan – A Princess Garb

A gorgeous creation by the Garn Studio designer team comes from the Precious Piper Knit Cardigan. It will keep your baby warm and toasty during chilly days. It perfectly pairs any of your little one’s favorite pants, dresses, or skirts.
In addition, this is great for our intermediate-skilled knitters to work on.
Moreover, the pattern is available in six sizes, (12/18 months) 2 – 3/4 – 5/6 – 7/8 – 9/10 years. The finished bust measures (11.81) 12.60, 13.39, 14.17, 14.96, and 16.14 inches. That’s approximately (30) 32, 34, 36, 38, 41 cm if you prefer to use the metric system.
Making this pattern, you will need a DROPS Air Yarn, it’s a soft and lovely Aran worsted yarn. The yarn is made from an excellent combination of alpaca, wool, polyamide fibers that provides a soft, rustic, and elegant touch to your project. This airy yarn is beautiful and is so perfect against the skin. It’s ideal for accessories, garments, and blanket projects.
Furthermore, you will need two circular and double-pointed knitting needles US size 8 and 6. This is about 5 and 4 mm if you prefer to use the metric system.
In addition, working this pattern requires you to make the K2tog or knit 2 stitches together, which is a basic decrease technique that slants to the right.
If you like to learn how to make the K2tog, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique that you’ll find helpful. You can find the tutorial here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
Finally, making this skirt will require you to make the Open Yarnover Increase (yo), a stand-alone increase and is vertical in appearance. Check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique here: Learn the Open Yarnover Increase.
