This free knitting pattern is ideal for Level 1 - Beginner Knitters

Designed by Lee Gant, this cute baby headwear is easy to make and will look absolutely adorable on your little sweetheart. It is knitted in the round, perfect for confident beginners who would like to try out a knit-in-the-round baby hat.

The hat pattern comes in 3 different sizes. They will fit babies with 16-, 17-, and 19-inches head circumference.

This project uses the Swish Worsted Yarn, a superwash, medium-weight yarn that is made of 100% fine merino wool. It’s super soft, yet machine washable. Perfect for warm accessories and baby garments.

You’ll also need a US11 double-pointed and circular knitting needles. That is an 8 mm needle, if you are using the metric system.

Furthermore, you will be employing the k2tog knitting decrease in making this headwear. K2tog stands for knitting two stitches together. It is a basic right-slanting decrease and probably the easiest method of decreasing stitches when knitting.
