Techniques Used

You will need to utilize the Mattress Stitch to join the sides of the pillow together. The mattress stitch is a seaming technique that creates an invisible, vertical stitch.

If you want to learn how to make the Mattress Stitch, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique. You can find the tutorial here: Learn How to Do a Mattress Stitch.

You will be using the k2tog knitting decrease when you make this project. The k2tog or knit two together is a basic right slanting decrease that is quite common throughout knitting patterns.

If you’re not familiar with the k2tog decrease, we have an illustrated, step-by-step tutorial for it that you’ll surely find helpful. You can find this tutorial here: Learn How to Make a Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
