To make this knitted toy, you will need KnitPicks’ Fable Fur Yarn. It is a soft and furry super bulky-weight yarn that is made of 100% polyester. It is simply perfect for lovely accessories and cozy afghans, as well as plush toys, like this piece that we’re making.

You will also need a size US 9 Double-pointed knitting needle. That is a 5.5 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Moreover, you will be using the KFB increase and k2tog decrease when working this Little Mishka Knitted Teddy.

The KFB or Knit Front and Back is a fairly common increase used in knitting patterns. If you want to learn how to do the KFB, we have a fully illustrated tutorial for it that you can find here: Learn How to Make a KFB or Bar Increase.

The k2tog or knitting two stitches together is a basic right slanting decrease that is pretty common throughout knitting patterns. It is probably the easiest method of reducing your working stitches and is often paired with the ssk.

We also have an illustrated tutorial for the k2tog decrease technique. You can find it here: Learn How to Make a Basic Right Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
