Brought to you by the talented design team over at Lion Brand, the Liam Ribbed Hat is an enjoyable pattern to knit. It’s going to make a special knitting project for that special little boy or girl in your life.

Furthermore, you can work the hat in one piece, and then seam it together in the end.

Once finished, the hat should measure about 17 inches in circumference, and about 7 1/2 inches in height.

That’s 43 cm and 19 cm respectively if you prefer to use the metric system. But note that using stretchy yarn, the hat can fit a range of sizes.

The original hat was made using the discontinued Cute As a Button yarn. However, you can easily substitute any No. 5 or Bulky Weight yarn in its place.

Moreover, you will be needing a US size 10.5 knitting needle. That’s 6.5 mm if you prefer to use the metric system.

Finally, as you come to finish the pattern, you will have to weave in the yarn ends. This method will give your hat a nice and neat finish.

If you like to learn how to to do this, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique that you’ll find helpful. You can find the tutorial here: Learn How to Weave in Yarn Ends.
