The Lacy Star Stitch Pattern is a fun, little lace pattern. In fact, it is super easy to knit so it is perfect for confident beginner knitters who would like to try out a lace pattern with a slight challenge.

At first glance, the pattern instructions might look a bit difficult as they contain numerous knitting abbreviations. However, the pattern just consists of a series of simple yarnovers combined with slipped stitches and decrease stitches.

With regards to the decrease stitches, you will find that we have some great, step-by-step tutorials that you can find here:

If you are unsure about how to slip stitches correctly, we have another, step-by-step tutorial that you can find here: Slipping Stitches Knitwise or Purlwise

That leaves just the p2sso abbreviation. Actually, this is an abbreviation that is known under a few different names, including s2kp. You can learn more about s2kp abbreviation here: S2KP: Knitting Abbreviation Explained

Basically, the p2sso just means that you slip 2 stitches from the left to the right needle. Then you knit the next stitch. Finally, you pass the 2 slipped stitches back over the stitch you have just knitted. So, in effect, you have decreased your number of stitches by 2.
