Knitted Helmet Liner – A Comfy Motorcycle Accessory
Designed by the talented team over at Lion Brand Yarns, the helmet liner is knitted in the round in one piece. It is available in one size but is stretchy enough to fit a range of sizes.
Once completed, the helmet liner measures 19 inches in circumference at the widest point. That is 48.5 cm if you prefer using metric units.
To make this helmet liner, you will need Lion Brand’s Fishermen’s Wool Yarn. It is an exceptionally soft and warm medium-weight yarn made of 100% pure virgin wool. Perfect for making cool weather garments and accessories, like this piece that we’re making.
You will also need size US 5 and US 7 circular knitting needles. That’s 3.75 mm and 4.5 mm needles if you are using the metric system.
The ssk or slip one, slip one, knit two together is a basic left-slanting decrease that is often found on lace knitting patterns. You can find our illustrated tutorial for it here: Learn How to Make a Basic Left-Slanting Decrease (SSK).
