Techniques

You will be using the k2tog knitting decrease when you make this project. The k2tog or knit two together is a basic right slanting decrease that is quite common throughout knitting patterns.

If you’re not familiar with the k2tog decrease, we have an illustrated, step-by-step tutorial for it that you’ll surely find helpful. You can find this tutorial here: Learn How to Make a Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).

You will be slipping stitches when working on this pattern. To slip a stitch means to pass the stitch from one needle to another without working it.

If you like to learn how to do the sl or slip stitches, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique here: Slipping Stitches Knitwise or Purlwise.
