Another wonderful creation by the very talented Lionbrand team this scarf is perfect for beginner knitters to work on

To make this pattern you will need the Scarfie Lite Yarn. It is a gorgeous and luxuriously soft Medium weight yarn made from 43% Acrylic, 41% Poly, 9% Nylon, and 7% Wool fibers. It’s the perfect yarn for Garments, Accessories, and home projects.

Furthermore, you will need a US size 8 knitting needle to make this scarf. That’s about 5 mm if you prefer to use the metric system.

You will be using the YO or open yarnover increase when you make this project. The open yarnover increase is an increase technique commonly used on lace patterns. It is a standalone, vertical increase, meaning it neither leans to the left nor to the right.

If you’re not familiar with the open yarnover increase and would like to learn how to do it, we have a fully illustrated, step-by-step tutorial for it that you’ll surely find helpful. You can find this tutorial here: Learn the Open Yarnover Increase (YO).

Finally, as you come to finish the pattern, you will have to weave in the yarn ends. This method will give your shrug a nice and neat finish.

If you like to learn how to do this, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique. You can find the tutorial here: Learn How to Weave in Yarn Ends.
