Designed by the talented Joyce Fassbender, this knit throw is worked by creating individual squares that are knit separately then sewn together.

The pattern is available in a single size and once completed measures approximately 54 inches square. That is 137 cm square if you prefer using metric units.

To make the throw blanket, you will need KnitPicks’ Wool of the Andes Worsted. It is a gorgeous and durable worsted weight yarn that is made of 100% Peruvian Highland Wool. This yarn is perfect for knitting garments, accessories, and lovely blankets, like this piece we’re making.

You will also need a size US 7 Circular knitting needle. That is a 4.5 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Moreover, you will be utilizing the Long-Tail cast on when working on this project. The long-tail cast on is a popular cast on method that is fairly easy to learn.

We have a fully illustrated tutorial for this cast-on technique if you want to learn it. Find the tutorial here: Learn How to Do A Long-Tail Cast On.

Furthermore, we recommend you use the mattress stitch to sew the individual squares together. The mattress stitch is one of the many seaming techniques you can use to join knitted pieces.
