This free knitting pattern is ideal for Level 4 - Intermediate Level Knitters

Brought to you by the creatives over at Paint Box Yarns, these snuggly socks feature a classic turned heel and a grafted toe. It is an ideal project for knitters with intermediate skills.

The socks pattern comes in two sizes. The smaller one has a measurement of approximately 7.5 inches around the foot and the larger one is about 8.5 inches. If you prefer metric measurements, the smaller size is 20 cm around the foot and the larger one is 22.5 cm.

To make the socks, you will need Paintbox Yarn’s Socks yarn. An aptly named yarn that is available in 4 different versions, each with its own gorgeous shades and colors.

The yarn is made of 75% wool and 25% polyamide. It is a sturdy and easy-care yarn that is just created for making amazingly snuggly socks.

You will also need a size US 1 Double-pointed knitting needle. That is 2.25 mm needle if you are using the metric system.

Moreover, it is important that you know how to take accurate foot measurements. Otherwise, the completed socks might not fit the intended recipient.

If you’re not sure how to do this, we have a handy guide that will show you how to take foot measurements properly. Check it here: How to Take Foot Measurements When Knitting Socks.

To give the socks more stretch, and make sure it isn’t too tight, it’s best if you use the long tail cast on method on the edges. We have a tutorial on this cast-on technique if you want to learn it. Check it here: Learn How to Do the Long Tail Cast On
