Designed by the talented Irina Poludnenko, this shawl is knitted back and forth in rows, starting from the lower point going up.

It is available in one size and once completed has a wingspan of roughly 76 inches along the top edge. That’s 193 cm if you’re using the metric system.

To make this shawl, you will need Lion Brand’s Cotton Ease Yarn. It is a soft and versatile worsted-weight yarn that is made up of 60% cotton and 40% acrylic. Perfect for making snuggly garments and beautiful accessories. Best of all, it is machine washable.

You will also need a size US 9 circular knitting needle. That’s 5.5 mm needle if you are using metric units.

Moreover, you will be utilizing the cable cast on technique when doing this shawl. The cable cast on is a variation of the knitted cast on. It creates an even, cable-like edge that is firm and non-stretchy.

We have an illustrated tutorial on this technique if you want to learn it. You can find this tutorial here: Learn How to Make a Cable Cast On.
