From the collection of designer Debbie Bliss, the Aran Doggy is an adorable knitted sweater that will protect your dog from harsh elements. Whether on land or out on the seas, make sure your furry friend is wearing this snug sweater.

The pattern comes in two sizes: small/medium and medium/large. Once finished, the sweater’s measurement ranges from 18-21 inches in length along the back and 18 -20.5 inches in width around the chest. That’s about 46-53.5 cm and 48-42 cm respectively if you prefer to use the metric system.

To make this pattern, you will need the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran yarn. It is an incredibly soft and lovely worsted-weight yarn made up of 55% wool, 33% acrylic, and 12% cashmere. It’s ideal for making luxurious fabrics.

In addition, you will need a set of four size US 7 double-pointed needles. That’s 4.5 mm if you prefer the metric system.

Furthermore, one of the techniques you need to work the pattern is the k2tog, or knit 2 stitches together. The k2tog is a basic decrease technique that slants to the right.

If you like to learn how to make the k2tog, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique that you’ll find helpful. You can find the tutorial here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
