This free knitting pattern is ideal for Level 4 - Intermediate Level Knitters

Designed by the creative Stacey Winklepleck, the Accogliente Socks are all-purpose and versatile.

So whether you have a whole day of relaxation at home or planning an outdoor adventure, these cushy socks will keep you comfortably warm on your feet.

A finished sock measures 8 inches in circumference, and 4 inches in leg length or 8 inches in foot length. That’s approximately 20 cm, 10 cm, and 20 cm respectively if you prefer to use the metric system.

To make these socks, you will need the Chroma Twist Yarn, which is a worsted, color-transitioning 2-ply Chroma yarn. It’s sturdy but soft, and it’s an ideal choice for worsted weight knitted projects. It’s also great for colorwork, like kid’s garments and accessories, decors, afghans, and many more.

You will also need a size US 5 double-pointed and circular knitting needles. That’s a 3.75 mm needle if you use the metric system.

Working the pattern requires you to make the SSK, a basic decrease technique that slants to the left. If you want a useful tutorial in making the SSK, you can look it up here: Basic Left-Slanting Decrease (SSK).

Additionally, you will need to use the k2tog, which is often paired with SSK and is also a decrease technique, but this one slants to the right.

If you like to learn how to do make the k2tog, you can check out our fully illustrated tutorial for this technique. You can find the tutorial here: Basic Right-Slanting Decrease (K2tog).
